Pakistan’s Federal Investigation Agency has deported six Vietnamese nationals upon arrival at Allama Iqbal International Airport after officials found irregularities in their travel documents.

According to the agency, the passengers were travelling on visit visas but were unable to provide credible details about their stay. Investigators said hotel bookings presented by the group were fake, while checks of their mobile phones revealed deleted communication records, raising further suspicion.

Officials added that only limited travel history was found, including a single visit to Cambodia, and said the individuals could be linked to organised cybercrime networks operating in parts of Southeast Asia.

The agency warned that such groups are involved in schemes targeting people with fraudulent job offers, particularly in the IT and call centre sectors. Victims are often lured abroad with promises of high salaries but are later forced into illegal online activities, with reports of coercion and extortion.

In a separate development, a court in Lahore convicted a consultancy firm owner, Zulqarnain Asad, in multiple cases of visa fraud and human smuggling. He was handed lengthy prison sentences across 12 cases, along with substantial financial penalties.

Authorities said the convictions reflected stronger enforcement and prosecution efforts against organised immigration fraud. Additional cases against the accused remain under trial.

The FIA also confirmed the arrest of another passenger attempting to travel to Malaysia using forged documents, as part of ongoing operations to curb human trafficking and visa-related crimes.
