Sikh Pilgrims Return to India Praising Hospitality During Vaisakhi Visit to Pakistan
By Sadia Khan :

Indian Sikh pilgrims are returning home after attending Vaisakhi celebrations in Pakistan, expressing appreciation for the arrangements, hospitality and interfaith engagement experienced during their stay.
Officials said more than 2,000 pilgrims arrived earlier this month to mark Vaisakhi and the 327th birth anniversary of the Khalsa, taking part in religious ceremonies at key sites including Gurdwara Janam Asthan Nankana Sahib and Gurdwara Dera Sahib.
Pilgrims performed rituals and offered prayers for peace and improved relations between India and Pakistan, while also attending cultural and religious events organised by the Evacuee Trust Property Board.
Participants said facilities, including accommodation, transport and medical services, were well managed. Many highlighted the availability of clean water, food and organised langar services, as well as the respect shown by local communities.
During their visit, pilgrims toured historic locations in Lahore, including the Lahore Fort and the Walled City, and visited markets such as Anarkali Bazaar.
An interfaith conference was also held at Badshahi Mosque, where religious leaders and officials emphasised tolerance and dialogue as key to strengthening mutual understanding.
Authorities said facilitating pilgrims and maintaining religious sites remain a priority, with efforts focused on improving services and preserving heritage.
The pilgrims are scheduled to depart via the Wagah Border after completing their visit.
