Pakistan condemns Houthi threats against Saudi Arabia, Red Sea shipping

Lahore: Pakistan has condemned the Houthi militia’s threats against Saudi Arabia and commercial vessels in the Red Sea, warning that such actions jeopardise regional stability, maritime security, and international trade.
Speaking at the weekly media briefing in Islamabad, Foreign Office Spokesperson Tahir Hussain Andrabi expressed Pakistan’s deep concern over the worsening security situation in the Middle East and reaffirmed the country’s commitment to peace and stability in the region.
Andrabi strongly denounced the Houthis’ continued threats against Saudi Arabia, as well as their statements targeting commercial shipping operating through the Red Sea.
He said any threats to commercial vessels undermine regional peace, disrupt global trade, and pose serious risks to international maritime security.
The spokesperson added that attacks or threats against commercial shipping are a violation of international law and established principles governing freedom of navigation.
