Islamabad: The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) and Meta have signed a Letter of Intent (LoI) to strengthen cooperation on online safety and promote a safer digital environment for children and young people in Pakistan.

Under the agreement, the two organisations will work together on initiatives aimed at improving online content safety, enhancing digital wellbeing, and expanding capacity-building efforts across the country.

The collaboration will also focus on policy dialogue, public awareness campaigns, and programmes designed to encourage responsible online behaviour among young internet users.

PTA Chairman Hafeezur Rehman said the authority is committed to creating a secure and trusted digital ecosystem for all users. He added that the partnership with Meta would help advance digital safety initiatives and foster greater awareness of responsible online practices among children and youth.
