Pakistan Army Chief Reaffirms Resolve to Eliminate Terrorism at GHQ Investiture Ceremony

Chief of Defence Forces and Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir on Thursday reaffirmed that Pakistan’s fight against terrorism would continue with full national resolve until lasting peace and stability are restored across the country.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations, the army chief made these remarks while addressing an investiture ceremony held at General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi.
During the ceremony, the field marshal conferred military honours on officers and soldiers of the armed forces in recognition of their bravery during operations and distinguished services rendered to the nation. The awards included 50 Sitara-i-Imtiaz (Military) and 12 Tamgha-i-Basalat decorations.
The ISPR stated that medals awarded posthumously were received by the families of martyrs with honour and dignity during the ceremony.
Paying tribute to the country’s martyrs and veterans, Field Marshal Asim Munir described them as the “pride of the nation” and said their sacrifices represented a sacred trust for Pakistan. He added that the peace and security enjoyed by the country today were the result of the supreme sacrifices and unwavering commitment of armed forces personnel.
The army chief also praised the resilience and patience shown by the families of martyrs, acknowledging their continued sacrifices for the defence and stability of the country.
The ceremony was attended by senior military officials, decorated officers, and families of recipients, reflecting the armed forces’ continued emphasis on recognising acts of courage and service amid ongoing security challenges in different parts of the country.
