Over 33,000 Foreign Nationals Deported from Punjab in Ongoing Repatriation Drive

Punjab Police say more than 33,000 foreign nationals living illegally in the province have been deported as part of an ongoing government repatriation campaign.
According to a police spokesperson, the operation is continuing across Punjab, including in the provincial capital Lahore. Officials said 349 individuals were currently being held at various holding centres while arrangements for their deportation were being completed.
Men, Women and Children Among Deportees
Police figures show that 33,000-plus individuals have been sent back to their countries of origin so far. Among them were 12,565 men, 6,695 women and 13,760 children.
Authorities said the deported individuals included several categories of foreign residents. Around 10,505 people had proof of residence documents, 11,100 held Afghan Citizen Cards, while 11,416 were classified as illegal foreign nationals without valid documentation.
Security on High Alert
Inspector General of Police Punjab Abdul Kareem said security across the province had been placed on high alert while the repatriation process continued.
He added that authorities were ensuring the removal of all individuals residing illegally in the province.
The police chief said the operation was being conducted in accordance with international laws and that officials were taking steps to ensure that the human rights of those involved were respected during the process.
