The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) says it has intercepted several drones allegedly launched from Afghanistan, describing the move as an attempt to spread fear among civilians.

In a statement issued on Friday, the military’s media wing, Inter-Services Public Relations, said the drones were launched by the Afghan Taliban on 13 March 2026.

According to the statement, the aircraft were “rudimentary” and were neutralised using a combination of electronic and physical countermeasures before reaching their intended targets.

Civilians injured by falling debris

Although the drones were successfully intercepted, debris from the devices reportedly injured four people.

The military said two children were hurt in Quetta, while one civilian each was injured in Kohat and Rawalpindi.

Pakistan condemns alleged attempt to create fear

In its statement, the military accused the Afghan Taliban of attempting to create panic among the Pakistani public.

It added that while the group presents itself internationally as a victim, it continues to target civilians through militant proxies and drone attacks.

Operation against cross-border militancy continues

The military also said that Operation Ghazab lil-Haq would continue until Afghanistan addresses Pakistan’s concerns about militant groups operating from its territory.

The statement said Pakistan’s armed forces remain committed to countering terrorism and defending civilians against threats originating across the border.

Officials added that the military would continue responding to what it described as provocations and would maintain operations against militant networks and their facilitators.
