Pakistan Activates Crisis Management Unit as Regional Tensions Escalate

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has activated its Crisis Management Unit to monitor the rapidly evolving security situation in the Middle East and provide assistance to Pakistani nationals across the Gulf region, officials announced Sunday.

The decision comes as regional tensions soar following US-Israeli strikes on Iran that killed Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and triggered retaliatory missile attacks across multiple Gulf states .

Urgent Advisory for Pakistani Nationals

In an official statement, the Foreign Office strongly advised all Pakistani citizens residing in Gulf countries to exercise utmost caution, remain indoors where possible, avoid unnecessary travel, and strictly follow instructions issued by host governments .

Widespread Protests in Pakistan

The activation follows violent protests across Pakistan on Sunday, particularly in Karachi where at least nine people were killed and more than 20 injured during clashes between police and demonstrators outside the US Consulate . Protests also erupted in Lahore, Islamabad, and other cities, with authorities imposing Section 144 to ban public gatherings and sealing off sensitive areas .
