Heavy Rain and Hailstorm Cool Lahore as Weather Department Predicts More Showers
By Sardar Burhan :

Heavy rain accompanied by hail and thunderstorms swept across Lahore on Tuesday, bringing a drop in temperatures and temporary relief from the recent spell of warm weather, officials said.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department said similar weather conditions could persist over the next 24 hours, with the possibility of further rain and thunderstorms in the provincial capital.
The downpour significantly improved the city’s air quality, with Lahore’s average Air Quality Index recorded at 75, placing it in the “moderate” category. Despite the improvement, fine particulate pollution remained a concern, with PM2.5 levels measured at around 4.4 times higher than the annual guideline recommended by the World Health Organization.
The rainfall helped cool the city’s atmosphere, with the minimum temperature recorded at 16°C while the maximum reached 23°C, making conditions noticeably more comfortable for residents.
Rain was reported in several parts of the city, including Johar Town, Mall Road, Abbott Road, Davis Road, Garhi Shahu, Mozang, Ichhra, Jail Road, Upper Mall, Ferozepur Road, Samanabad, Gulshan Ravi, Iqbal Town, Mughalpura and Gulberg.
However, the showers also caused difficulties for commuters as water accumulated on some roads, slowing traffic and disrupting routine movement in parts of the city. Authorities said the situation was being monitored as further rain is expected in the coming hours.
