Pakistan has completed preparations for Hajj 2026, with arrangements finalised for 180,000 pilgrims and no additional financial burden placed on applicants, Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Sardar Muhammad Yousuf has said.

Speaking to PTV News in Riyadh on Sunday, the minister said the government had ensured that the pilgrimage would be organised efficiently while maintaining the existing cost structure for pilgrims.

According to the minister, the total quota includes 120,000 pilgrims travelling under the government scheme and 60,000 through private operators, allowing thousands of Pakistanis to perform the pilgrimage this year.

Flights carrying Pakistani pilgrims are scheduled to begin on April 18. Yousuf said authorities had made comprehensive arrangements for transport, accommodation and other logistical requirements to ensure a smooth and comfortable journey.

He also announced the introduction of a new route connecting Lahore directly with Saudi Arabia to facilitate pilgrims, while existing flights from other major cities will continue as planned.

The minister said the Ministry of Religious Affairs would closely coordinate with private companies to oversee Umrah and Hajj-related services, including accommodation, catering and transport, to maintain quality standards for pilgrims.

He added that the government aimed to make this year’s pilgrimage an example of effective management and improved facilities.

Yousuf also praised Saudi Arabia for its continued support and arrangements for international pilgrims, highlighting the longstanding relationship between the two countries. He said Pakistan would fully utilise its Hajj quota this year while ensuring that pilgrims receive safe and well-organised services throughout their journey.
