Pakistan Railways Suspends Jaffar Express Service from Quetta for One Day
By Sadia Khan :

Pakistan Railways on Thursday announced the temporary suspension of the Jaffar Express service from Quetta to Peshawar for March 27, citing technical issues and track maintenance.
Railway officials said that no trains will operate from Quetta to Punjab or Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Friday as a result of the suspension.
According to the announcement, the Jaffar Express departing from Quetta to Peshawar will not run on Friday, while the train arriving from Peshawar will terminate its journey at Jacobabad railway station instead of continuing to Quetta.
Authorities said that passengers who had purchased tickets for travel on the affected service would receive full refunds.
Other Services Already Suspended
Officials added that some train services from Quetta had already been suspended for an extended period.
The Karachi-bound Bolan Mail was halted earlier due to low passenger numbers, while the Quetta–Chaman passenger train has also remained non-operational for unspecified reasons.
Security Concerns Reported
While railway authorities cited technical reasons and track maintenance for the temporary suspension, sources familiar with the matter suggested that security concerns may also have contributed to the decision.
The disruption has added to ongoing difficulties faced by passengers in Balochistan, where rail services connecting Quetta with other provinces and cities within the region have frequently been interrupted over the past several months.
Passengers and residents say the repeated suspensions have created travel challenges, limiting transport options between Balochistan and the rest of the country.
