Pakistan has sufficient fuel stocks, PM told amid regional uncertainty
By Sardar Burhan :

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has been informed that Pakistan currently holds adequate stocks of petroleum products to meet domestic demand, according to an official statement.
The update was shared during a meeting chaired by the prime minister on Tuesday to review fuel conservation and austerity measures in light of the evolving regional and global situation.
Officials told the meeting that steps directed by the government were being implemented, with the Intelligence Bureau set to present monitoring reports on compliance.
Mr Sharif instructed the Ministry of Petroleum to intensify efforts to strengthen the country’s fuel import supply chain, while emphasising that all relevant institutions must remain prepared to take emergency measures if needed.
The meeting was attended by senior cabinet members, including Ishaq Dar, Muhammad Aurangzeb and Ali Pervaiz Malik, along with other officials.
Participants were told that the situation is being closely monitored, with detailed records maintained to detect any irregularities in petroleum supply.
Officials also highlighted austerity steps taken by the government, noting that cabinet members had voluntarily given up their salaries. Reduced fuel consumption across government departments was already yielding savings, which authorities said could help ease pressure on the public.
The meeting was further informed that sufficient stocks of medicines are available across the country.
Separately, the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication has introduced connectivity arrangements to support e-office systems, enabling remote working for government departments as part of contingency planning.
