The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has successfully blocked a series of organised cyberattacks targeting the nation’s digital infrastructure and key sectors, according to a report by the state news agency WAM on Saturday.

The cyber incidents involved attempts to infiltrate networks, deploy ransomware, and execute coordinated phishing campaigns against vital national platforms. Reports indicate that artificial intelligence tools were employed by the attackers to develop and execute these offensive operations. The source of the attacks has not been disclosed.

The UAE Cybersecurity Council confirmed that protecting individuals, safeguarding personal data, and ensuring the uninterrupted operation of essential services remain top priorities. The council emphasised that the country’s national cybersecurity and cyber defence frameworks continue to function efficiently, successfully preventing breaches and maintaining operational resilience.

The council also encouraged the public to remain vigilant and report any cyber threats or suspicious activity through officially designated channels, reinforcing the nation’s commitment to securing its digital environment and critical infrastructure.

Authorities highlighted that continuous monitoring, advanced security protocols, and proactive measures were key factors in neutralising these threats and maintaining the stability of the UAE’s digital ecosystem.
