At least 13 people, including several children, lost their lives in a major traffic accident on the Karachi-Hyderabad Motorway (M-9) near Kathore on Friday, according to officials.

The incident involved a passenger bus, a cargo truck, and several cars. Police and rescue sources said the collision took place near the Ansari Bridge, where multiple high-speed vehicles reportedly crashed into each other.

Emergency responders confirmed that ten people died instantly at the scene, while others sustained serious injuries and were rushed to nearby hospitals.

Rescue teams from Rescue 1122, Edhi Foundation, and Chhipa Foundation arrived quickly to provide medical aid and transport the injured. Authorities warned that the death toll may increase due to the critical condition of some victims.

Eyewitness accounts suggest that the tragedy began when a goods truck overturned and spilled diesel on the road, causing other vehicles to lose control and collide.

Senior provincial officials, including the Interior Minister, Governor, and Chief Minister of Sindh, expressed deep sorrow over the loss of life and directed hospitals to provide the best possible treatment to the injured.

An investigation has been launched to determine the exact circumstances behind the crash.
