By Tanveer Ahmed :
The Punjab Social Welfare and Bait-ul-Maal Department has launched the Assistive Devices & Wheelchair (ADWC) mobile application under Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz’s Digital Punjab Vision, aimed at improving access to assistive tools for persons with disabilities across the province.
Through this platform, individuals with disabilities can now apply online from home for various assistive devices, such as manual and motorised wheelchairs, paediatric chairs, prosthetic limbs, hearing aids, and mobility aids. Once an application is approved, the selected item will be delivered directly to the applicant’s doorstep, ensuring both accessibility and convenience.
How to Apply
Applicants can register through the official ADWC website by following these steps:
- Click on “Apply Now” on the homepage.
- Create an account using your CNIC number, mobile number, and basic personal details.
- Upload the required documents:
- CNIC or B-Form (for minors)
- Disability Assessment Certificate
- Recent passport-size photograph
- Select the assistive device(s) needed (e.g., wheelchair, prosthetic limb, or hearing aid).
- Submit your application and save the tracking ID for future updates.
- Once approved, the requested device will be delivered to your home.
For assistance, applicants can contact the helpline at 1312 or visit their nearest Social Welfare & Bait-ul-Maal office.
According to data from the ADWC portal, the program has already received over 38,600 applications, with more than 11,200 approvals and nearly 7,000 assistive devices distributed across 36 districts of Punjab.
Officials stated that the digital system will empower citizens with disabilities by making the process more efficient, transparent, and inclusive. The department has directed all field officers to use the app, register eligible individuals, and launch awareness campaigns across the province to ensure maximum outreach.
