Islamabad: Interior Minister Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi affirmed on Saturday that Pakistan remains an “iron wall” in the fight against terrorism, underscoring the nation’s unwavering commitment to regional and global security.

Naqvi made these remarks while welcoming UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy at the Ministry of Interior. During their meeting, both leaders discussed Pakistan–UK relations, bilateral cooperation, and development partnerships aimed at promoting mutual interests.

The interior minister expressed appreciation for the UK’s continued support, particularly through the Upskill Programme, which he credited for significantly aiding efforts against organised crime. He noted that the initiative has delivered positive outcomes and strengthened cooperation between the two nations.

Highlighting recent successes, Naqvi revealed that, in partnership with the UK’s National Crime Agency, Pakistan’s Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) had seized 4.3 tonnes of opium, valued at £22 million.

Foreign Secretary Lammy thanked Pakistan for its assistance in the resettlement of Afghan refugees to the UK and expressed satisfaction with the progress of the Upskill Programme.
