Islamabad: As tensions between Pakistan and India continue to rise, the National Cyber Emergency Response Team (NCERT) has issued a high-priority advisory warning of a surge in cyberattacks and misinformation campaigns designed to exploit the volatile situation.

The advisory highlights that malicious actors are taking advantage of the climate of uncertainty by launching sophisticated cyber operations. These include phishing schemes, deceptive messages, fake news, and harmful links being distributed through social media and messaging platforms.

“These cyberattacks aim to create confusion, steal sensitive data, and disrupt critical national infrastructure,” the NCERT advisory stated.

It further cautions that adversarial elements are actively spreading disinformation through fabricated stories, phishing emails, and fake alerts disguised as official communication. The goal, according to the advisory, is to mislead the public, induce panic, and undermine national stability.

Authorities urge the public to remain vigilant, verify information from official sources, and avoid interacting with suspicious messages or links.
