Islamabad: The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has introduced a new initiative aimed at facilitating freelancers by allowing VPN registration through mobile numbers.

Previously, freelancers faced challenges when registering VPNs due to the requirement of a static IP address, which was not accessible to many. The latest update eliminates this hurdle, enabling users without static IPs to register their VPNs using mobile data.

A PTA spokesperson emphasized that this move simplifies the process, allowing freelancers to register via their mobile numbers on the PTA’s portal without interruptions to their work. The registration can be completed by visiting the portal at [https://ipregistration.pta.gov.pk] and submitting the necessary details.

The initiative is part of PTA’s efforts to promote the IT industry and ensure seamless internet security measures. So far, more than 31,000 VPNs have been successfully registered under the system, highlighting its growing acceptance.

In addition to facilitating freelancers, the initiative is aligned with PTA’s broader goals of regulating internet usage and curbing illegal online activities, while fostering the development of Pakistan’s IT sector.
