Islamabad: Authorities have temporarily closed Naran and Babusar Top to tourists following heavy snowfall and dangerous road conditions. The Deputy Commissioner of Mansehra has issued a safety advisory, urging visitors to avoid traveling to these high-altitude areas until conditions improve.
“The roads in Naran, Babusar Top, and nearby regions have become extremely slippery and unsafe due to the snowstorm,” the DC stated. “We recommend exploring safer locations like Shogran and Balakot, which remain accessible for now.”
Babusar Top is completely shut, and travelers attempting to go beyond Batakundi are being stopped for their safety. Snowfall in Naran Kaghan Valley has made travel nearly impossible, with temperatures dropping below freezing.
Tourists are advised to contact the tourism department’s helpline (1422) for up-to-date information on weather and road conditions before planning their trips. The harsh winter season has officially closed Naran to visitors, with the region reopening in spring.
Emergency services are on standby to assist travelers, and authorities continue to monitor the situation. Further updates will be shared as needed.
