Islamabad: As the annual Arabian Travel Market concluded in Dubai on Thursday, Pakistan was spotlighted as a crucial component of Emirates’ growth strategy. The event, which discussed new trends in sustainability and a tech-driven future, featured over 2,000 exhibitors and representatives from more than 160 countries, and attracted over 46,000 industry professionals, including 33,500 visitors.

Adnan Kazim, Deputy President and Chief Commercial Officer at Emirates Airline, underscored Pakistan’s importance to the airline’s strategic plans. “Pakistan remains a core part of the strategy for Emirates,” Kazim told Business Recorder at the Arabian Travel Market. He noted the strong demand for outbound flights from Pakistan to Dubai, covering cities like Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, Peshawar, and Sialkot.

“As Emirates grows, we want to see more capacity being deployed, especially out of northern Pakistan. Cities like Lahore and Islamabad can take more flights, as we see demand reaching a bottleneck situation,” Kazim said. He emphasized ongoing discussions between governments to enhance capacity and meet current demand.

Kazim also highlighted Dubai’s record tourism numbers and the booming hospitality industry in the UAE. “The industry, especially in the UAE, is booming,” he said.

The Arabian Travel Market 2024 showcased the latest trends and innovations in the travel industry, reinforcing Dubai’s status as a leading global tourism and travel destination.
