“Caretaker Government Responds to Soaring Global Oil Rates with Up to Rs20 per Litre Hike in Petroleum Product Prices”
In response to a significant surge in global oil prices, the caretaker government has announced an increase in the prices of petroleum products by as much as Rs20 per litre for the upcoming two-week period. The Finance Division released a statement on Tuesday night, acknowledging the recent upward trajectory in international petroleum prices. Consequently, consumer prices within Pakistan are being adjusted to reflect this global trend.
Under this adjustment, the cost of petrol will experience a notable rise of Rs17.50 per litre, while high-speed diesel (HSD) is set to undergo an even steeper increase of Rs20 per litre. These revised rates for fuel will come into effect starting from August 16th, impacting consumers nationwide.
This move by the caretaker government reflects the intricate interplay between international oil rates and domestic fuel prices. As the world oil market experiences fluctuations, Pakistan’s consumers are directly affected, leading to necessary adjustments in the pricing structure of essential petroleum products.
