“Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Reports Seven Additional Cases of COVID-19”

Despite the conclusion of a harsh winter in the province, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P), including Peshawar, is witnessing a resurgence in Covid-19 cases, raising concerns among health experts about the possibility of another wave in the country, which has already experienced multiple waves of the infection.

An official from the Health Department reported seven new cases of Covid-19 in the province over the past 24 hours. The total number of cases in K-P since the beginning of the pandemic has now reached 225,261, with 6,376 lives lost to the virus.

Even as one person recovered from Covid-19 in the last 24 hours, the overall recovery count stands at 218,739. The official emphasized that the province has witnessed a total of 3,153 Covid-related deaths over the past few years, constituting nearly 50 percent of the total fatalities in the region.

Furthermore, the report highlighted that five new cases have been reported in the district within a single day, underscoring the need for continued vigilance and preventive measures against the ongoing threat of the virus.”
